Over the last six years (2008-2014) – financed by Creative Scotland, UKFC/BFI, BBC Scotland, Channel 4 and others – Edge City Films sister company DigiCult has developed, produced and exec produced 20 live action, animated and documentary shorts with emerging British talent.

These productions include BAFTA and BIFA nominated ‘Rite’ (Michael Pearce, 2010), BAFTA winning animations ‘Fixing Luka (Jessica Ashman, 2011) and Battenberg (Stewart Comrie, 2009), and Cutting Loose (Adrian Macdowell & Finlay Pretsel, 2011), winner of Best Documentary Short at Flickerfest and Encounters 2012.

A new programme of Scottish Shorts was launched in partnership with Hopscotch Films in 2012 and the resulting slate premieres January 2014 with competition selections at Sundance Film Festival (Exchange and Mart) and Berlinale (E&M and Seagulls).
